The Bank of Aiken has bought a burglar proof safe from the Diebold { Safe and Bock Company, of Canton, | Ohio, for foot). The Herring, Marvin | and Hall safe companies each had j agents present and the competition j was very spirited. We understand , that the Diehold company was so de termined to sell to the bank that they placed their figures at a point that very little more than covers cost. The people arc overwhelmed at the vast array of wonderful inducements. Our Fall and Winter season has commenced in right good earnest. There has been no lull in our business. Success is assured! Every dav we record a marked increase in cash sales. It must be the moderate stocks of other dealers, and I heir high prices that attract such great attention to our enormous assortment of i MEN’S AND BOYS’ FINE I AND Augusta, Ga. CLOTHING ! Tims at last has a long felt commer cial necessity been provided for the convenience of the business men ol our town by the application of com mon sense methods hacked by perse verance and business tact. To the untiring energy of Mr. W. M. Hulsui arc our citizens indebted for this ad mirable addition to the business fa cilities of Aiken, and we feel sure that nil will unite in congratulating him upon his election to the import ant post of Cashier. The election of Mr. F. B. Henderson, a liberal sub scriber to the capital stock and a promiueiit merchant, gives entire sat isfaction. Mr. James Powell the vice president is a farmer and a large stockholder, and the firm of Hender son Bros., attorneys, stand so high in their profession that no end u'sement h^’ us is necessary.
