LOCAL LACONICS Rock Hill Votes School Bonds. K By a vote of 64 to 22, the voters of j Rock Hill School District hist Tuesday voted for issuance of school bonds in the sura of $150,000 to be used in building additional class rooms. York County ir. New Dioce=e. The Piedmont counties will come within the territory assigned to Bishop K. G. Finlay, of Columbia, under the action of the diocesan council Wednesday at Charleston, in dividing the ' diocese. The following counties will constitute the new diocese which- will be presided over by Bishop Finlay; Abbeville, Aiken, Anderson, Cherokee, Chester, Edgfleld, Fairfield, Greenville, Greenwood. Kershaw, l^ancaster. Laurens, Lexington, Mfc Cor mack, Newberry, Oconee, Pickens. Richland. Saluda, Spartanburg, Union and York. The new diocese will not be named until after the meeting of the general convention In September. Wilbanks, a gallant Confederate veteran v and for two years a scout for General Robert E. Lee, died at the Confederate infirmary Monday night after a short illness. He was in his 88th year.; The body will be sent to Enosee for interment. John S. Wilbanks was born in Laurens county, March 16, ,1835, and was a son of John Wilbanks, a Virgin- ; ian by birth, and Jane Lay ton Wilbanks of Spartanburg county. He entered the Confederate service May 28, 1861, with Co. K, Third regiment i South Carolina infantry, Bonham's j brigade. He served four years .and was wounded once. Mr. Curry came to Clover five years ago from Lowell, N. C., since which time he had been engaged in the mill roller covering business, operating plants at Clover and Gastonia.
