With her husband. 1 lev. 11. (!. Clifford, originally a resident of .Motnuon. Mass.. Mrs. Clifford established this school, and upon her husband's death assumed charge, and managed the institution for several years. Scores of Chester county women received their education at the Clifford Seminary: and in after years have felt that they owed this noble woman a debt of everlasting gratitude for the interest she took in their fortunes and the noble ideals she set before them, as well as the instruction they received under her. The school, which was discontinued five years ago on account of Mrs, Clifford's declining health and strength, was a wonderful fuel or in Union's life: and has exercised an influence on the hearts an<? lives of the community that can be revealed only at the last day when the books of eternal account are brought forth and accounts balanced. The train was east bound and was in charge of Conductor l-'isher and Motoiman Hogeis. Both bodies were horribly mangled and torn. They were literally crushed and ground t t jtieces. Bits of hair and blood and parts of the brain and skull were strewed along the track for several yards near the scene of the intp.u...
