Ashley was elected sheriff over the incumbent ? In Richland, Lumpkin, Rembert and Welch were elected to the legislature on the first ballot and Miller. McMahan and Summersett are to make a second race. Lumpkin, an avowed Jones man headed the ticket Rembert and Welch are Blease men, Rembert being the governor's floor leader in the house. ?
