Each Sunday school in the county is entitled to a delegate to the State Sunday School convention to be held in Rock Hill on February 15, 16 and 17, and it is earnestly hoped that all will be represented. All the officers of the 9 county and township associations are also entitled to seats as delegates, and all will receive a most cordial welcome. The officers are requested to send to me for credentials. Delegates who desire free entertainment, will write to me as far as possible in advance, and ft I want o ask them to do their own ^ writing, l ot to leave it to some one else, because experience has taught that the delegate who writes his or her own letters generally makes good by keeping the appointment. W. W. Boyce. 10 * f.t 3t Th? Best There la The crop mortgage form that is being sold by The Enquirer is easily the best that has been offered in this sec9 tion. It is not as long a form as some of them; but it is long enough to include all the essential specifications of a proper contract. Recording costs from 76 cents to a dollar, where the mortgage is for more than one hundred dollars. Where it is less than i a hundred dollars the indexing fee is only fifteen cents. To save recording fees on mortgager of more than 3100 it is practicable to draw two or more papers for less than a hundred dollars each and have them indexed. Sample of this crop mortgage will be mailed to any address on receipt of 6 cents. L. M. Grist's Sons, Yorkville, S. C. For Nsw Subscribers. To the clubmaker who returns and pays for the largest number of new subscribers to The Enquirer during the month of February, up to 6 o'clock p. w m., February 28, we will give our check for $10. By a new subscriber, we mean one that has not been on our list within six months, either in the name of the subscriber or In the name of any member of thj family with which he or she may be living. The competition , is open to all who desire to enter, whether or not their names are already ? a a olnhmnkprs. All sub UII UUI ***** ? scriptions "eturned in the contest will also be counted in the competition for the other premiums offered. Begin at once. Lk M. Grist's Sons. OBITUARY. t Died?At the home of her son-inlaw, O. W. Hartness. near Tirzah, on February 3, Mrs. JEMIMA BRADFORD, aged 84 years. She dfotton Jftarhft. Yorkville, Feb. 4.?Cotton 14J. New York Cotton. New York. Feb. 3.?Spot cotton closed quiet, 5 points decline. Middling uplands 14.75; middling gulf 15.00; sales 200 bales. Futures opened steady and closed quiet and steady as follows: Feb. 14.43; March 14.46; April 14.41; May 14.53; June 14.44; July 14.43; Aug. 14.01; Sept. 13.10; Oct. 12.70; Nov. 12.57: Dec. 12.50. New York, Feb. 3.?Weakness In the stock market checked an early advance in cotton and the market eased off during the afternoon under scattering liquidation and a renewal of local bear pressure. The close was about quiet and steady, net unchanged to 6 points lower. The market opened steady at a decline of 2 points to an advance of 1 point which was about in line with Liverpool futures. The first tendency of the market was upward on excellent trade advices from Manchester, reports of continued steadiness in the south, and the expectation of bullish week-end statistics, with May calls selling up to 14.65 and July to 14.53, or about 6 to 8 points net higher. But as soon as local professionals saw that weakness in the stock market was bringing out some Wall street cotton, offerings became heavier and while there was a good demand on a scale downward, the market developed an easier tone in the absence of aggressive bull support. May contracts sold off to 14.48 in the last hour, or about 17 points below the high level of the morning and 9 points under last night's close. Covering caused a partial recovery in the last few minutes with May closing at 14.53 bid, or only 4 points net lower. Aside from the unsettled condition in the stock market there seemed to be no fresh bearish features in the news, while advices from trade centers and the southern spot markets were generally encouraging. Such reports as have been received from the southwest with reference to the recent rains indicate that they have not helped the season In the ground to any extent. Southern spots officially reported early were unchanged to 1c higher. The Wall street selling was estimated at about 30,000 bales, and a prominent commission house with southern connections was credited with buying fully as much as this for May and July delivery on the decline. Receipts at the ports today 13,384 bales against 14,629 last week and 36,003 last year. For the week 80,000 bales against 113,002 last week and 253,527 last year. Today's receipts at New Orleans 306 bales against 3,627 last year. FOR SALE ACRES. $1,200; 150 Acres, ?\J\J $1,200, Kershaw county, convenient to schools, churches and railroad.
