I ROCK HILL AND VICINITY. Coming Marriage?Baseball?The Last of the Hayburners?Personal and Other Notes. Oorreeoondeace of the Yorkville Enquirer. Rock HilXs June 17.?A marriage of much Interest here to the friends of both the bride and groom, was that of Miss Josle McSwain, a former student of Wlnthrop college, and Prof. W. E. Brezeale, a former professor in Wlnthrop. The marriage occurred Saturday evening at the residence of the bride's uncle, Mr. W. T. Austin, at Cross Hill. The situation looked basebally Monday morning, when a repre tentative of DarMngton appeared and offered to sell out to Rock Hill. Some of the youngsters, who are "fanatics" got to hustling, but the proposition seemed too sudden, and they did not meet with proper encouragement, so the offer was refused. Rock Hill has a splendid team as it stands, being made up of Rock Hill men, who are players on different college teams. It really looks like the good old days when John Roddey pitched and Claud Irby caught, and "Our Boys" beat everything in sight. It really looks as though there might be a chance for Rock Hill to get rid of her celebrated mule car system of street railways, or else get an improvement on them. It Is alleged that the corporation to which the franchise was granted Is out of existence and the system Is being run by their assigns. There being no provision in the franchise for any transfer it is claimed mai me irancnise is nun ojiu num. A burning flue in the new brick residence of Mr. W. H. Stewart inOakland. Saturday evening, caused quite a scare in the neighborhood, but did no damage. Miss May Chaplin, the second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Saxby Chaplin of this city, will be married Wednesday afternoon at 4.30 o'clock to Mr. J. M. Miller of Langley, S. C. Miss Chaplin is a graduate of Winthrop in the '04 class. The affair will be very quiet and witnessed by only a few friends. The pair will go to Jamestown for their wedding tour. Capt. and Mrs. W. L. Roddey will give their granddaughter. Miss Marion Roddey. a party Monday evening, at which Miss Annie Roddey Miller of Florida Miss Magill of Mexico, and Miss Epps of Due West will be the guests of honor. Mr. Geo. D. White of Charlotte, spent Sunday here with relatives. Mrs. Alexander Sprunt and little son James, are visiting Mrs. Sprunt's daughter, Mrs. James White.
