The State Bank Bill.?And now as to the State hank hill. The enthusiastic advocates of this measure are not so numerous us they should be, considering the fact that the Democratic platform declares for it. A hill repealing the 10 per cent, tax on the issue of State hanks will be reported to the house?probably next Tuesday. Speaker Crisp went before the Democrats of the committee the other day and insisted that they should make a report at once. They agreed to it, though several of the Democrats of the committee are opposed to the measure. In the house the fight is going to be a hard one. Speaker Crisp, however, will take an active hand in it, and he may be able to muster a majority for it. It is believed the bill will pass the senate; una inougn Mi*. vieveiauu is against it, he cannot afford to veto it.?Atlanta Constitution, Sunday. The State Tax Levy.?The following table of figures, showing the State tax levy for each year since 1877-78, is of special interest at this time: Year Levy, mills. 1877-7 8 44 1878-7 9 3jf 1879-8 0 1880-8 1 5 1881-8 2 4j 1882-8 3 4if 1883-8 4 5 1884-8 5 54 1885-8 0 51 1880-87 51 1887-8 8 5 1888-8 9 ,.51 1889-9 0 51 1890-9 1 4if 1891-9 2 44 1892-9 3 54 1893-9 4 5 or 51 They Repudiate Judge Simouton. ? Messrs. Irby, Latimer, Struit, Shell, McLaurin and Talbert have signed a paper disavowing any responsibility for the appointment of Judge Simonton to succeed Judge -Bond. It is quite probable that these representatives will do all they can to prevent the confirmation of Judge Simonton's appointment by the senate, but it is not thought they will be successful. Judge Simonton's successor will probably not be appointed until after the senate has acted upon his nomination. South Carolina Appointments. ? The Washington correspondent of the Atlanta Constitution says that it is probable that the South Carolina appointments will be made during this week, and thinks it probable that George Johnstone, of Newberry, will be made collector of internal revenue, and M. L. Donaldson, of Greenville, will be made United Statas marshal. To Watch the Dinpenaary. "~i ?i.?f ?i,? ? ll is rumored in tmumum mui> mv authorities at Washington have detailed a special revenue officer to inspect the barrels of liquor received at the State dispensary, and see that no packages are received that are not properly stamped. Several improperly stamped barrels of liquor were received at the dispensary some weeks ago, and, for this reason, the authorities think it will he a good idea to watch the place. The Toothsome Sausage. At this season ol' the year, attacks of indigestion and diarrhoea are quite common on account of the abundance of spareribs and sausage. We would remind people that a dose of Anti-Ferment in attacks of this kind, gives immediate relief and tits you for the enjoyment of the next meal. It is Dangerous to Drink out of a Bottle. It is dangerous to drink Campbell's Cough Cure out of the bottle as is done with other cough syrups. A cough medicine that may be taken without regard to the size of the dose and yet do no harm, is not likely to do any good in any case. Every ingredient in Campbell's Cough Cure has a specific and marked effect on the system, and a close taken will be unmistakably felt in from 15 to .'10 minutes. While it is harmless in riouhlethedosc prescribed, it is better to give it according to directions on the bottle. If your children are subject to attacks of croup, Campbell's Cough Cure, in such cases, is worth' its weight in silver, as one or two doses will always cut short and cure an attack. Try it for a dry, hacking cough. It will cure it. Try it for a cold. One dose taken at the beginning of an attack will break it up. Try it for asthma. Two doses taken at intervals of .'10 minutes will relieve the worst attack. Try it for Bronchitis. It allays the inflammation of the bronchial tubes and cures the disease. Try it for pains and tightness of the chest. It gives immediate relief. Christmas Things. We have in stock a beautiful lot of goods suitble for Christmas gifts and remembrances. < 'all find Rocthcm. ' MY medicine is a never failing household J remedy for the cure of INDIGESTION and all kindred ailments, and as a TONIC and BLOOD PURIFIER IT HAS NO SUPERIOR, and it is on this meritorious ground that we (!" call the attention of the people of York county ei to my medicine, which has the hearty endorsement of thousands of suffering humanity, li! through a series of years, and its reputation ex- a; tends with the rising of every ami. The first cure I ever made with the remedy was in my own ? family, on a case which had been pronounced (j hopeless by the physicians. At a time when I thought the child could not live twenty-four ;l| hours, directions for making the remedy were jl; given to me. I tried it on the child, giving the j, Bitters and applying the Wash. In twenty-four hours I could see a change for the better, and in three weeks the child was entirely cured and ai never had a return of the disease. I recognized e< in the remedy a specific whose power for good was unlimited, though it was impossible that I should then know it was good for anything else d than scrofula; so whenever and wherever I P could hear of anyone similarly afliicted, I would c! send them some of the medicine, being determined to fully test its merits before throwing it 011 the market. I made a perfect and permanent euro 011 every case I ever tried it 011. Afterwards, various persons began to write to me for it, and I was compelled to keep a few bottles?a dozen or two?011 hand, ready for calls. In that way my enterprise was started. Not only did the sales rapidly increase, but as the remedy ^ was introduced, I found its area of usefulness could be largely extended. Every one who used it pronounced it the FINEST TONIC they 7 overused; as an ALTERATIVE, it is-unequal- J ed, and as a PURIFIER OF THE BLOOD it P is endorsed by all who have used it. It is a tine NERVINE and gives good natural sleep to those who arc restless. Tuis is merely the result tc of the alterative properties of the medicine, as no narcotic enters into its composition. It will h eurccancerin its early stages, eruptions and skin ci diseases. INFLAMMATORY AND MUSC'U- 1) LAR rheumatism, erysipelas and all diseases Jj which arise from impurity of the blood or that h< can be reached by building up and giving tone to the system. A good full dose will give INST A St relief in cases of uoliu, . and its continued use will cure the worst case of :. chronic billiouscolic. It will regulate (.he bowels, . and by its action as an alterative, cure chronic constipation or dysentery. 1 have found it infallible in cases of scrofula. For ulcetation of " the womb it is excellent, when used with the wasn aiso. i nave kiio?u u h? unv <> i many casus ofirregularity, painful or suppressed menstruation, ami to ladies passing through the "change of life," I cannot recommend it too highly. It seems to thoroughly counteract and relieve the troubles and sulluring incident to this period. I have never known it to fail to cure IXPKJKSTIOX'. It is a most admirable preparation for T1CKTINU CHILDREN, and J< is, in short, a household remedy, and after once testing it, it will be lirst among your domestic "1 remedies.
