Jfccial Itolitts. Excursion to Richmond. Survivors of the days that tried men's pluck and stomachs will not recognize the fields of carnage and confusion, in which they were actors 22 years ago, around Richmond. White winged peace now broods over the scene. Landscapes that then trembled under the tread of marching legions, the roar of artillery, the rattle of musketry, and the "noise of the captains and the shouting" are now clothed in grain and grass and orchards "yielding their abundance in due seasou." From the burned and blackened homesteads, with their lone chimneys standing as sad and silent reminders of the desolation and cru* elties of war, have sprung up the stately edifice, the attractive cottage and comfortable farmhouse. As Longman tfe Martinez's Pure Prepared Paints have a large sale in Richmond, we have no doubt that all these houses have been made beautiful and durable by their use. Every gallon sold covered witn a guarantee. KUYKENDAL, Agent. Vox Populi. The voice of the people pronounce the J. I. C. Harness Oil, the best in the world for leather. No soiling of hands or clothes in handling harness on which the J. I. C. has been used. The J. I. C. sold only at the York Drug Store. Absolute Nonsense. To call a Baking Powder that contains ammonia, ^alum, starch and gypsum, "absolutely pure," is.absolute nonsense. Price's Powder contains none of the above adulterations, nor anything that is not essential to a perfect and wholesome Baking Powder. Price's Cream Baking Powder sold in town only at the Y. D. S. DYSPEPSIA CAN BE CURED. Eukaula, Ala., May 1st, 1883. Dk. Holt, Dkar SinAbout live years ago I was taken with a violent cough with enlarged liver and constipation. I grew worse and worse until it was almost impossible for me to lie down and sleep at night for 18 months, owing to the severity of the cough. The only way I could sleep was in a chair, my head resting on a pillow on a table. Was treated by two physicians, and tried a number of patent medicines, all of which did no good. After having despaired of ever getting well, my wife consulted you by letter. You sent two bottles of your Dyspeptic Elixir ; in less time than three days I coula lie down and sleep as well as I ever could in my life; a few bottles cured me perfectly. Yours truly, JOHN F. KEHOE. For sale by DOWRY ?fc STARR. July 31 * 32 tim CHATTEL MORTGAGES, MORTGAGES of Real Estate, and Titles to Real Estate. For sale at the ENQUIRER OFFICE.
