MlSCEG FENERATION IN NORTH CAROLI na.?A Charlotte dispatch of Friday says "Much excitement and bad feeling has beei caused in Rockingham and several of th adjacent counties by cases of white womei running off and marrying negro men. Yes terday two white girls?Mary Lorain an< Sarah Lace?one of them very comely, deli b erately left their homes with coal-black ne ' groes.' The parents and a brother of thi girls got on tne track of the fugitives, and armed with shot guns, pursued then hotly for a few hours. The race was for lif and death. The brother of one of the girl got within 5(X) yards of her. She was rid ing behind her dusky lover on the sami horse which he was belaboring. The broth er hailed them and raised his gun to shoo the negro, but desisted for fear of killing his sister. They were better mounted, anc + with +Via rlnnhlf* Infld flistancec the pursuers. One of the couples was ar rested on the outskirts of Rockingham, anc there is now strong talk of lynching th< man. Nine cases of this kind have occur red in six months, and all in the sam< section of the country, white women ir each case running off with negro men. ? 4 ? Ex-Treasurer Mills' Case.?J. E. Mc Donald, Esq., of Winnsboro, special refe ree appointed to take testimony in the east of the State against ex-treasurer Juliu.' Mills and his bondsmen, filed his report ir the office of the clerk of the Court on the 4th instant. The referee decides that 110th ing is due from Major Mills to the State 0] county, he having fully accounted for all money received by him. The report con eludes as follows:'4,It is therefore adjudg ed, I. That the complaint in this actior be dismissed on the merits. II. That the defendants herein have judgment againsl the plaintiff for their cost and disbursements."?Chester Reporter, 6th. , Jkancial airit Cummtrcial. YORKVILLE, September 12.-Cotton 9 to 9*. A Witness Worth Hearing. great consternation at mathewsox'k hotel, westminster, s. c.?a life saved!?it is now his vadk mecm. Mr. H. C. Erminoer, of the firm of Erminger <fc Goldsmith*, large Candy manufacturers, Atlanta, Ga., cheerfully and gratefully gives us the following wonderful facts: "I* reached Westminster, August 101b, that night I was seized with a violent attack of Cholera Morbus. Fifteen actions on the bowels occurred in less than four hours. The pains kept 011 increasing and the actions on my bowels were more frequent. The usual remedies?Paregoric, Jamaica Ginger, Ac., were promptly, vigorously and persistently used, but without avail. The symptoms were growing worse and these remedies were more than useless. By a lucky and happy thought, Norman's Neutralizing Cordial was procured, and one dose, in a few minutes, brought marked relief and four or five more ef?fected a complete cure. Before I began the use of this medicine, I was in the greatest agony, my bowels unchecked, and I was so completely ocun.iriiolvto lieulile to sDeak above a > OAliauniK. 4 ^ whisper. The relief was so sudden and complete that I could hardly realize it, and I knew no hounds to the expression of niv gratitude, for f the remedy that saved me from impending death. I now feel that I am doing a service to my fellowmen in letting them know its merits that they may also have its aid in time of their danger. Thetraveling salesman of the Wholesale Gfoeery lirm of A. 0. Wyly, Atlanta, (la., Mr. Mttfthewson, the Hotel Proprietor, and others, will cheerfully testify to the above facts." C.,for ibout 14 years, and the demand has increased, ear by year, being greater now than at any fornertiiiie. Hundreds of families in North Caroina and other States, who have used them eonitantlv from lit to 14 years, pronounce them as food as new, and eonimend them in the highest ernis. If a canvass was made of the Stoves now 11 use in North Carolina, it would show as many 1'ropie Cook Stoves as those of every other make ombined. In order to sell them cheap, or to compensate or the Nickel plating and fancy Trimmings, the uakers of nearly all theStoves'now put upon the narket have reduced the thickness of the plates, md in consequence they soon crack, or the plates ipring, and in from three to live years the Stove lecomes worthless. Another feature practiced ly many Stove makers of late years, is to enlarge he top and bulge thcdoors in'order to make the ttove appear larger than it really is.
