KUYKENDAL. YORK" DRUG STORE PARAGRAPHS. GOOD AUTHORITY. Another Feather for Improved Harris' Fertilizer. J NO. D. McCONNELL, a stay-ahead farmer, in a letter received a few days since, from which we are permitted to quote, says: "I have been using for nine years, principally chemical manures. I get better results from your Improved Harris, than auy fertilizer that I have tried. In addition to making large yields in crops, it permanently improves the land. I commenced farming after the war on old worn out lands. It may seem like blowing, but I will now in pointof fertility, compare farms with any one in the county." COTTON AGAINST MONEY. The present low price of cotton and the large excess of supply above the absolute wants of the world, indicate lower, at least no better prices for the crop. of 1883. If the short crop of 1881 did not create a boom in the staple, nothing short of disaster to the American crop will ever do it. The bulk of cotton for fertilizers is delivered from the 1st to the loth of November. Take these dates for the past three years, and the average price of such grade as is generally received in payment, has not averaged over si, possibly as lowas 8i cents per pound. At this rate, a ton of our Dissolved Animal Hone, or Irish Hone, for 300 pounds of cotton, would make the time price in money from $34.75 to$2f?.50 per ton. We hold, therefore, and we think with good show of reason, that it is the policy of the farmer to make contracts for Acid Phosphate and Guano to be paid in cotton. We are offering the Irish Bone for 300 pounds of middling cotton, and Amnioniated Bone for 400 pounds middling cotton. JOHN C. KUYKENDAL. DOBSON & PARISH. FULL UP! FULL UP!!
