C., November 13, 1877. j IN pursuance of an Act of the General Assembly, entitled "An Act to Reduce all Acts and parts of Acts in relation to County Commissioners, their Powers and Duties, into one Act and to amend the same," the Board beg leave, respectfully, to maketheir Annual Report, with exhibits showing their receipts and expenditures during thetiscal year, ending October 31st, 1877: Upon the assessed value of the real and personal property of York county, reported by the Auditor at four millions eight hundred and flfty-four thousand six hundred and eighty-four dollars, (&,8*4,684), the Board levied a tax of two and one half mills, (2J) for "ordinary county purposes" to raise twelve thousand one hundred and thirtysix dollars and seventy cents, (812,136.70,) one and one half mills, (11) to raise seven thousand dollars to pay interest on oounty bonds, and one mill (I) to raise five thousand dollars to be Ojted" in retiring county bonds. Of these amountsthere has been collected up to the 31st of October, 1877, for ordinary county purposes, ten thousand three hundredand eighteen dollars and sixty-five cents, ? - j-i 1. 1 ?.i?? The farm consists of 471 acres of land, with superintendent's and twelve tenement buildings, and is valued at six thousand dollars, inclusive. The paupers are well cared for. There has been an average of 34 paupers supported at the poor house during the year?22 whites and 12 colored. There was raised on the farm, this year, 590 bushels of corn ; 50 bushels of oats, ana 7 bales of cotton. The court house and lot are worth, say ($15,000) fifteen thousand dollars. The jail and lot ($10,000) ten thousand dollars; making the value of the county property about ($31,000) thirty-one thousand dollars.
