For the Yorkvilto Enquirer. SOMETHING MORE ABOUT BEES. In purchasing the right to use patent bet hives, bear in mind that the only patent wort] purchasing,is"Langstroth's Movable Frame. This is worth $5.00. The man who propose to sell yon a hive iu which bees will niak three times the honey they will iu the ordina ry hive, has either been deceived himself, o is tryiug to deceive you. W Bees do not make honey. They gathe that which nature produces. During a ver wet season no hive will induce the storing o honey, for bees can not then gather it. Then is none to gather. f* The movable frame gives the master com S plete control of the bees. With that he cai prevent swarming entirely, and colonize hi: bees instead. The weak colonies can be uni ted. In a poor season one ruay take a dozei weak hives, which would not survive the win ter, and, by unitiug the beesaud their stores he may secure a halt' dozen strong colonie: ready to work early in the spring. Th< honey can be taken out without interfering with the bees. The moth, the great enemy o the bee, can be completely managed. Tin ubove are a few of the advantages. The average season for storing honey rapid ly is not more than thirty days in the year If you doubt this, take a stroug hive am weigh it once a week during the summer sea son. If you should, by chance, have a staui to die, and leave a hive full of nice comb, b( sure to save this carefully, aud put a swam in it. You will be surprised at the rapidity with which they fill the comb with honey. Ii ? requires only a seventh to a fourth of the time that is necessary for another swarm tc make comb and store honey at the same time p.r It is a mistake that comb can be made onl) at certain seasous of the year. It. can be made when honey can be gathered. The prevailing opinion is that comb is made by s certain process from honey. WIXE GROWIXG. - TATE are vine growers by profession, lately ar? rived from Franco, and residing at Chester. We have observed that in spite of great fertility and natural adaptability of the soil to the culture of grapes, that no wine is made in this country, and that it is very dear. 3 Many persons, in the neighborhood where we t live, have employed us to plant out vines, aud we r propose, if we meet encouragement, to go into that business. Our expectation is to import the plants from - Franco this Fall, to superintend the setting them out, to give instructions as to the modcof culture, t and, at thepropertime, to instruct the people how j to make good WINE ANI) BRANDA. \ Wo hope to receive encouragement from the peopleof South Carolina, and that through ourexertions they will become rich.
