P Legal Dexterity.?A correspondent of r the New York World, writing from Columbia, S. C., during the late Legislative session, gives* Ius a tolerably fair picture of the assemblage. Among other things, he reports that the 'Code' of the State of South Carolina, compiled by Corbin and Whipper, which, as he says, will cost the State <100,000 or $200,000, is stolen, bodily, page for page, verbatim et literatim, from that of th^ State of New York. This . would argue sharp practice on the part of .these two eminent persons, hitherto so renowned if not venerable, for their virtues! We know not how far the statement may be true, but our lawyers should look to if, if our Legislators do not. If we had a people, we should appeal to them. In the hope, however, that some day we may have a people, we put the statement on record. Considering the various antennae which Corbin employs in filling his carpet-bag, he must carry a long spoon not unworthy to be handled by the beast Butler, of famous memory, in connection with sterling silver.?Courier. Does ' not reason tell us that judicious stimulation is re. inired. To resort to violent purgstion in such a k ase is as absurd as it would be to bleed a starving ft ian. Yet it is done every day. Yes, this stupid K nd unphilosophical practice is continued in the ft V'th of the great fact that physical weakness, I rith all the nervous disturbances that accompany S ?, is more certainly and rapidly relieved by HosI etier's Stomach Bitters than by any other mediI tine at present known. It is true thatgeneral deb Mlity is often attended with torpidity or irregularis Jty of the bowels, and that this symptom must not be overlooked. But while the discharge of the waste matter of the system is thus expedited or B regulated, its vigor must be recruited, The Bitters ^ ^lo both.
