Zurich he found a Mr. Baur's Hotel and Pension,' which he does not hesitAte to prouounoe the most elegant he has seen in Europe. At Goldan he walked into- a ohurch; And?as he went somewhere else afterwards?he probably walked out of it. It further appears that he found it easier in general to go down hill than to go up; that at Lucerne an aged priest took off his hat and bowed, like everybody else; that the wind blew severely on the twenty-fourth of August, just at nightfall; that he once asked a little girl if there was any bridge in a certain direction, one she said 'No'; that shortly afterwards he called at a farm-house, and asked the farmer's wife if she had any milk, and she said Yah'; that he once visited a mill, but did not talk with the miller because the noise of the machinery prevented conversation?which, by the way, we think was rather fortunate for the miller ; that at Interlachen he rode up hill on a donkey. And so on to the end of a volume of nearly three hundred pages.' We have a slight impression that the Beverend Samuel Irenaeus Prime is sold therein; so may be his book; and so also its readers. J.
