You are welcome to give my opinion of this medicine to any person that has Dyspepsia?that being my disease. Yours, J. Another.?Butts County, Oct. SO.?Mr. Ilerty, Sir, 1 send you So, foruhich you will forward three more packages of Biiss' Dyspectic Remedy. I have at last found the medicine that I have been looking for; it no's like a charm upon my Dyspeptic and diseased stomach. Yours, S. Yet another.?Lauuens Him.?Friend Ilerty: Yon will please send another package of that Dyspeptic Remedy of Bliss'; it is the very remedy to cure Dyspepsia. 1 euclose $2. Yours, M. I clip the above from the "Federal Uuion," printed at Milledgeviile, Ga., aud I do so for the very reason that as regards their gemtintneas I know nothing?they may have been manufactured for the occasion, and placed before the public eye to deceive; this may have been the case, I say, but I tlon't believe it. I thiuk I know the party too well to believe he would stoop so low as to attempt to dupe the people by pursuing any such course for the purpose of gathering into his till a few paltry dollars. The above I believe to be genuine certificates, or letters, fori know that my agent in Milledgeville is another sort of a man than one that would manufacture letters like the above and palm them off upon the people as genuine, aud besides, did I deem it necessary, I could fill a page of a newspaper every week for twelve months with bona fide certificates of like character. I hawc refrained from publishing certificates from the very reason that it is so often done, and "the people" think they have good reasons to suppose that not one out of a thousand are genuine. I have always abstained from the attempt of endeavoring to raise a false excitement or notoriety, so often resorted to by others, feeling positive that the "Remedy's" own intrinsic value would soon enough be known after atrial had been made with it, and that its ability to bring about a cure would give it all the notoriety that was required. It has, 1 am sorry to say, become notorious among patent men that to make their preparations sell they must resort to cajoling the public by narration of facts of seme great cure that has be. n performed ( away off nobody knows where, and upon Mr. or Madame So and So, whose name, as bad luck would have it, could nevor be found in the "City Directory." But any thing, it matters not wuat, to give the preparation a notoriety?any thing to make it talked about, referred to and pointed at as being "some pumpkins," and quite likely the very article for "their complaint"?any thing to make it notorious. Robinson Crusoe became notorious by getting fat on goat's milk and shell-fish, and the fact has been handed down to us. The Fejee Islanders have become notorious for their great relish for baked Missionaries, and John C. Fremont came near being elected President of these United States from the fact that he had fed upon a mule, and had no small relish for grasshopper soup; and Dr. Kane, too, became notorious for his encomiums passed upon the peculiar delicious flavor of frozen raw rats, whose delicate limbs under tbe teeth would snap like a pipe stem. And so also of some "patent" preparations?some of them have become notorious from their being able to cure such and such a disease in just two and a half doses every pop?others in completely riddling the system of all diseased action in just seven minutes and a half by the watch?others from the fact that children cry for them?others by their proprietor "runnin' wid de masliene" in the presence of the principal crowned heads of Europe, and curing with his preparations the 1 Czar of Russia of wiudgalls, Louis Napoleon of the mange, aud the Empress Eugenie of the pip, and afterwards, in imitation of Abraham preparatory to his journey with Isaac to the mount of sacrifice, "saddled (out of delicacy I will use asterisks,) his ***," and starts on an errand of mercy and philanthrophy for the new world, departing, however, on his arrival, from his original intention to "blowing his own horn." Out upon such nonsense. If we have a medical preparation that is good and can be relied upon, sufficient is to say so, and while advising its use let good and substantial reasons be given fordoing so; and if the people arc satisfied with the reasons given they will test the medicine. This has been the course pursued with "BLISS* DYSPEPTIC REMEDY," ftttd hundreds and thousands have been induced to test its virtues that would not have done so had the usual course of puling and manufacturing of certificates been resortol to. From the reasons given why a cure might bv expected from its use, thousands were induced to try it, aud by the trial thousands have been convinced that it is all that it is represented to be.? These are the, reasons, and the only reasous, why the Remedy has become so popular, and not from any artificial excitement being got up by newspaper puffs, narrations of great cures, manufactured certificates, &c. To all sufferers from Dyspepsia let me say, try it?commence with the determination to persevere in its use and it will most assuredly uot only relieve but cure you. If you are distrustful as regards tbe genuineness of the above certificates, auuress a note to air onines xmnj, Milledgeville, Ga., requesting him to give you the names of the parties, and he will do so, I know, with pleasure, and by writing the parties you can very soon ascertain whether the certificates are genuine or not. The proprietor of the medicine will at any time take pleasure iu referring invalids to those who made use of its currative virtues.? He prefers doing this to parading tbeir names through so public a medium as a weekly journal. W. W. BLISS, 3G3 Broadway, New York. BLISS' DYSPEPTIC REMEDY, is for sale by L. P. BARNETT &.
