Commercial Department. Yorkville Markets. Reported Expressly far the Yorkville Enquirer iy i Thoina< Da vies ,j- Co., (Jrovers and I'rodure j Dealers. Afiul 3. ! Collon.?The season has pretty well advanced, and consequently very little cotton is now offering j in our market. A good feeling exists, however, j and sales are readily made at prices slightly ad- , vanced upon those quoted in your last issue. Ex- ! tremes range from 7.-10 to 9..70. Hour.?The demand for flour is good; but prices abroad are declining, and, though they are pretty well sustained here, it is chiefly caused by the demand for home consumption. "We quote from $3 to $3.50 in sacks; and from $0 to SC.75 in barrells. Grain.?There is but little grain offering. We j quote as follows: Corn, 50 ? 02 J; Meal, CO ? j C2] ; Wheat, $1.00 ? $1.25; On Is dull at 33 ? 40 ; Peas, 50 ? 60c. Groceries.?The market is well supplied with all kinds of Groceries and Provisions, at steady prices, to wit: Sugar, brown, 12J; refined, 14; crushed and loaf, 14. Coffee, Rio, 14@16j; Java, 20 @25. Molasses, N. 0., 05; West-India, CO.? Mackerel, $6.50 per half barrel, No 3; whole barrel No. 2, $14. Salt, $2.50, per sack. Rice, $5.50 per bushel. Cheese, 20 cents. Caudles, Sperm, 60@,62; adamant 37: tallow, 25. Columbia Market. \ March 31. It will be recollected that our report for the week ending on the 22d instant closed on a steady and uniform market, at prices varying from 8 @ ' 9fc extremes. The week just brought to a close 1 opened with the same quiet but steady demand, ] without the least change in the general ruling i ' rates, and up to the close of business on Tuesday ] evening there was no quotable change to notice from our previous quotations. On Wednesday, however, a better feeling sprang up, and in the : course of that and the following day an advance < of |@}c was fully established, bringing fair cotton 1 up to 10}c. On Friday morning three days' later I advices from Liverpool by the steamer Emeu came to hand, reporting cotton quiet with small sales. 1 These accounts checked the upward tendency in prices, and the market remained quiet but steady. And again on Saturday morning news by the G'ana- , da to the 15th inst. was received, quoting a decline 1 of $d on the low and middling qualities, while the ' finer grades were unchanged, with sales for the * previous week of 48,000 bales, inoluding 5,000 to ' speculators and exporters, and leaving a stock on ? hand of 356,000 bales, of which 235,000 are Ame- ' rican cotton. These accounts coming to hand on ' Saturday, when generally there is but little of the article offering, it is therefore difficult to say what effect they will have; still we are of the opinion that prices will rule about the same as they are j J now until the arrival of the next steamer. The < sales of the week foot up 950 bales, and we quote: j ' Inferior 8}@8J; ordinary 8}@9}; middling 9j < @9}; good middling 9? @ 10}; fair 10} @ 10|; and choice 10}c lb. < Bacon.?There has been but little if any change in the bacon market, although on some qualities ( prices are a shade lower, while fine hams are scarce, and consequently prices are looking up. We now ' quote: for hog round 10}@11; sides 10i@ll; ' and hams 111 @121 "<{p lb, according to the quality of the article. Com.?In the corn market there has also been no change, and we therefore continue to quote 70 0.75c f1 bushel. Oats.?The demand for oats is dull and prices are almost nominal. We still quote, however, 42 i 045c bushel. Beas.?There is still a fair demand for peas, and prices therefore are firm, at 80c bushel. Flour.?The stock of flour on sale at present, and especially of common brands, is large, and consequently all kinds are somewhat depressed.? We now quote $7J@$8 for common to good brands fine family flour S8}@,$81 barrel. Fodder.?We have no change to notice in the j pricoof fodder, and we quote $l}@$l;j ^ 100 ] lbs. ] j?;????] Caiiiiii'dtcs. j FOR SENATOR. 1 .... -.. ... . .W.-.*.- - ? The friends of Col. R. G.
