Le t each wvifo inquire, ''whichi aln I t" All Optinil lIrlosit3y. Here is a si mple little experiment, by which we cnn prove the existence of a blind spot in our eyes. Shut your left eye, and with the right one look steadily at the cross just below, holding the paperC ton or twelve inch es fronm the eye. Now move the paper slodly toward' the eye, which must be kept' fixed on the cross. Att a cei'taini distance the: ether figure-the letter O-will sud denly disappear ; but, if you bring the paper nearer, it wtill come again into view. Y'ou may not succeed ini the experiment on the first trial, but with a little patience you cani ha~rdly fail, and the suddenness with which the black spot vanishes and re appears is very striking. Now, ex~ anmnation has shown that, whenI it disappears, its image falls exactly on the spot wvhero the optic nerve eniterR the eye, thus proving that spot to bej blind.
