I observe that Governor Soott, the IcOhio Adventurer and "Bond Thief," continues to perpetrate his infamous outrages upon the peaceable white citizens of S. C. Robber Killer 8ott, has so disgraced the offBe he occupies that he finds but few who are willinC to take him by the band and they (who are bought for a mere iness of porridge,) are unequalled even among the famed briganids of Italy. A few more military orders, a few more assessitonts, and the worthless, treacherous imbeoile, who has wielded the scepter of power, and who has held the key of the vault of the State Treasury ever since his ascent to the Governorship, and who now has his paws lb the pockets of the populace of S. C., cannot find a corporal's guard willing to enfoece his diabolical sohemes-unless it be a detail fron "Smart's Artillery." I venture the assertion that he can't get one among the survivors of the old "1loyce Guarde," who figured so conspicuously during the late "unpleasantuets." I can never grow weary of writing and r-peaking of the rascality of Grant, Scott & Co. Their mean acts should be promulgated throughout the land, nnd held up before the people from the rising of the sun to the going, down thereof. When its first beams gild the nountain tops, then should we begin, and not through the day should we cease to arraign them be fore an outraged people. They and their satelites are only worthy the fate of enemies to honesty and civil liberty, and the people should hold them in disgust as long as life lasti. Nor should it stop here. Animated by a desire to rid ourselves of these sappers, and encouraged by the re cent "split-up." in their party, lot us firmly plant ourselves upon Liberal Republican prinuiples, and success fully wage war upon the debtroyera of our liberties. In local as well asgen. eral elections bhould we continue to practice that vigilan;e which is essen tial to success. Let the farmer re member that the present sacrifice of his hard earnings is brought about by high taxes, and these taxes are inpos ed by Scott and his motley crew. Let It be borne in mind that at any hour, peaceable, -innocent citiz.rns may be arrested by Etiopianse, arraigned be fore bigots and tried for their lives. That to meet the expenses thus in curred, their farms, their stores, their residences are all held liable to seiz ure. This is a stern reality, and since such is the case I can see no e,. ouse on the part of any individual for inaction, who respects even the law of .self-preservation. There can be no safety to perion and property so long as the Radical party controls the af fairs of your State. Until there is a general wiping out of obnoxious laws, gotten up by Scott and p)assed by the Legislature, you cannot enjoy securi ty. And not until peace, justice and liberty prevails from the Atlantic to the Pacific, can America realize the prosperity she deaervea. The New York oorrespoudent of the Rochester Demoorat writes: Speaking of Fisk, I am reminded of a paragraph now in circulation to the effect that Jay Gould hai recently conveyed to the widow of tho former the real ebtato counected with the opera house, amounting in all to $I, 800,000. This is evidently incorrect. Fisk had purchased this property in dividually and had it duly conveyed to himself by deed. It was Now York property. Hence he purchased on credit, paying small amounts and gi%iog mnortgages for the remainder. All of this property b in the widow's hands as executrix luf the will, atid she will sell it as son uas pos,ible. It will, howeer, suffer a heavy 'loss. Real estate has declined striously and the loss on these porchases will not b,) less than $300,000, that is if they are pres.,ed upon the market. The opinion is still maintained that Fisk's estnte will piose insolvent.
