General Conner introduced the fol lowing: Resolved, That this Convention car d illy recommend the Confederate Widow's Ilome, of the City of Charies ton, to the favorable attention of the Survivors' Associations throughout the State, and that the member s now in attendance pledge thetnsoves on their toturn to their homes to use their best efforts to obtain contribu tions to so noble a charity. Adopted. The following resolution, introduc od by Mr. Wm. Elliott, was also adopted : Resolved, That the thanks of this Convention be tenderol to the Survi vors' Association of Charleston Dis trict for their zealous and successful efforts in behalf of the cause wlioh has to-day called us together. In the evening the members of the Convention were entertained w ilt a supper at the Mlills I louse. The Stiur vivors' Association of Charleston,.with their invited guests, to the number o' about two hundred, did full justice to a bounteos collation, prepared by mine host Parker, in his host style. After the removal of the cl'h, Colonel MeCrady, the Chairman of the meeting, in an eloquent speech, extended a welcome to the guests of the Association, and in obedience to a general call General Ker.,haw replied in a few appropriate retnal ks. .'jTle first toast of the evening, '"Old South Carolina," was responded to by Major T. (. Barker and lion. Jas. B. Camnpbell. Mr. (loo. Bryan proposed the next toast, "Robt. E. Leo," which was ably and eloquently responded to by Mr. F. W. McMaster, of Columbia. TIhe next t mast, "Wzado Hampton," had the eff.ut of bringing the entire company to their feet with three rons ing cheers. Major Barker was called upon and Iosponaded with a glowing tribute to that dir'tinguished soldier.
