T^E ■o ■ PRESIDENT’S ILLNESS. ,-N The sentimenTTof our people is th&t . before election, a candidate is a mam-' ber and leader of a political party. After election he becames the presi- , dent-of the whole country, and finds a warm'place in t he hearts of all the people. Lincoln was Vnost 'bitterly hated by the Soiitl),, but when dead even the bitterest partisans of the South ' felt the loss of a sincere- friend., Garfield was elected by in tense partisanship, but his <jays of fatal illness found a throb of sympa thy in the' Soufh nn~tps;r ttran tn the North. The* saute was true of Mc Kinley-, and .white' Roosevelt grossly offended Southern 'prejudices, yet he w r as greatly mourned. The sympathy of all our people go to Mr. Wi Ison in his recent illness which cut short his speaking tour and brought him back to Washington in a state of nervous cojlapse.’ He is nearly 63 years of agV, and has overtaxed his strength. Many people may differ with him as to the vvisdam of the league of nations, but all re gret.'extremely the illness that has come to him. The matter of su- t . . •— # r. preme interest in America today is not the debates on the league in con gress, nor the news from the struggl? between capital arid* labor, but the latest bulletin from the president’s physician. . ./ These are more encouraging each -day. We will all rejoice when he has regained his accustomed health. _JW-8r-3t. CAR LOAD OF FINE MULES. 1 have just - received one car load of fine mules. They are the cream of the stock market.
