Browning, ou Tue.-d-y last held an inquest at Martin You's residence, about four luilos from the ?Edisto river, upon the bo-?)- of an infant, evidently just born, the child id' Mary Yon. The body had been throwu into a dr) well, fbitty feet deep, about two hundred yards from the dwelling hi-u>e. The testimony showed that the mother Mary You, udn iitod that She hei*sclf had thrown the child into this well, and said that it was .-till born After hearing voluminous toStita ?uy the Curouor's jury rendered a verdict .n fbrui as follows : "that the said boy Child, name unknown, came to his death by'.the uiilicions. wilful and intouti n 1 set of Mary Yoll, the mother of the said chil l." A warrant was issued for tho arrest of Mary You, but che opinion of tho physi cian being ?hat she could Itot bo moved Without endangering her life, the Trial Justice left her in c' argu of a constable.
