Notice is hereby given to the voters of Orungeburg County, that in compiace with tbeuhove Proclamation and in pursuance of an act of the General Assembly approved Murch 1, 1870, entitled ??An act, providing for the ieneral election and the nimmer of conduci ng the some, amended by an ect approved Alurch 12, 1872, an election will be held in the County of Ornngehurg ot the usual Polling precincts mentioned below, on the bill <lny of November, tor se?cn Presidential Elector*. Alt bar-rooms and drinking saloons shall be closed on the day of election, and any person who shall sell nuy intoxicating drinks on tl.c day ot election, shall be guilty of n misdemeanor, mid on conviction thereof, shall be fined in n sum not le?s than one hundred dollars, or lir imprisoned not less than one mouth, nor mure than six mouths. The managers of Election at each Pre cinct will be furnished with n box which shall bo publicly opened and inspected, io see ibnt it is empty and secure, and then locked, just bet?re ilie opening of tbo Poll*, by two or more dcsintcres'.ed parties, and the keys returned It the managers, and shall not be opened during tbc Eloclion. At the close of the Election the Managers and Clerk shall immediately proceed publicly to Open the ballot box and count the ballots therein, ami continue such count with out adjournment or interruption until tin* sumo is completed, and make such Statement of the result thereof, and sign the same as nature of the Election shall require, if in counting two or muro like ballots should be found folded together compactly, only one ahull be counted and the others destroyed, but if they bear different names, the same shall be destroyed and not counted. If more ballots should be found on opening the box than there arc names on the poll list, all the ballot-* shnll be returned to the box, and thoroughly mixed together, and one of the Managers or the Clerk shall with out seeing the ballots, draw therefrom and immediately destroy as many ballots as there are in excess of the uumbor of names on the poll-Hot. Within three dagrs thereafter the Chair man or one of I he managers to be designa ted in writing by the Hoard, shall deliver to the Commissioners of Election the poll-list, the boxes containing the ballots, and written Statement Of the result ot the Klcctiou in Iii? precinct. The Polls sbull be opened al ? o'clock in the forenoon and closed at 6 o'clock in the afternoon, on the snid day of Election, and shall be kept open during these hours without intermission or adjourn ment, and the Managers shall udministcr to each person offering to vole,an oath that they arc qualified to vole at this Flection according to (he Constitution of this State, nnd that they have not voted during this El eel ion.
