INTERNATIONAL MoNKY ORDER SYS tens I?Under orders from the Postraas ter General, the international money or der system, as determined on at a recent convention of tbe .postal authorities of this couutry and England, was tobe put into operation on last Monday. Money orders not exceeding the amount of $50 on the postoffioe department in England, payable at any portonice in the United Kingdom, can bo obtained on and after toaday. The following are rates of com mis-ion, to bo paid in United States cur rency, charged for issuing international money orders, to be transmitted by post master at New York to Great Britain: On orders not exceeding $10, 25 cents; over $10 and not exceeding $20,00 cents; over $20 and not exoceding $30, 75 cents ; over $30 and not exceeding $40, $1; over $40 and not exceeding 50. $1 25. No fractions of cents to be introduced in an order. United States Treasury notes or national bank notes only received or paid. A Rail Road Conductor's Troub les.?When the down South Carolina train reached Branohville Saturday night, (says tho Columbia Phoenix of yesterday,) tho attentive conduotor, of tcrattending to the many changes and transfers incident at this point, and hav ing a few minutes to spare, adjourned to the Branchville Hutol, to rofrcsh him self with a cup of coffee. Scarcely had he taken bis scat, wheu one oi his train hands, almost out of breath, ran in, Hay ing, "Captain! Captain! thero's a baby in your office" Without waiting to sip the nectar, the Captain mado a bee line far his Car and to. his amazement there found a banket, in which was n baby, not more than three day? old, but em eloped in garments of most cost ly and superfine quality. The little thing was nlive und kicking, and apparently in good condition for its tender age. The Captain was nonplussed, and vowed the knew nothing of the advent of the inuocout little stronger, nnd ho is kuown to be a gontleman of undoubted vera city, none questioned his assertion.
