J ho rail road tank, adjoin ing, was also entirely consumed. Several bales of ootton, ginned and unginned, were burnt. The loss is estimated at 91500. Whether it was the act of an incendiary or an accident has not been ascertained. A. F. Browning.?This goutloman has been teaching near Rowo'sPump, in this County for several months pnst, whore he has given general sutisfnetiou, and has established a very promising school. He announces in his card, in this issue that ho will continue tho ex ercises of his School on January 1st. Ho refers to the patrons of his school. All within the neighborhood have now the advautago of sending their children to a good school, no advantage which we need not to say should bo used. Masonic. ? A Horrible Murder at Hamp ton's Torn Out.?Our Columbir ex changes report that a Coroner's inquest was held on Tuesday, the 10th instant, at Hampton's Turn Out, on the lino of the South Carolina Rail Road, over the body of Patrick Murphy, the pump tcu der at that place. But one wi'uess was examined, who found him ou Monday morning about 7 o'clock, brutally mur dered, lying out of doors, at the back of tho house occupied by him. The verdict of the jury was "that the de ceased, Patriek Murphy, was killed and murdered by sonic person or persons to tho jurors unkuosn." It also appears that the struggle was a desperate OOC, for blood was traced up tho rail road for sixty yards, supposed to bo from a wound inflicted by the de ceased on his murderer with a hatchet, which was found in the house.
