Ssctia*. 1. Dt it Ordained hy the Mayor
and Aldermen in Counoil assembled that,
on and after the First day September 1871,
any Person or Parsons found hitching or
tying their Stock, such as HORSES,
MULES act., to aay of the TREES in the
Public Street of the Town of Orangeburg,
8. C, shall be subjected to a fino of five (5)
dollars for aaoh and every offsnec ; half of
the tinea collected to be paid to the informer
when bringing with him sufficient proof to
convict.
Sec. 2. That a fitte of fire (6) dollars be
Imposed upon any one who shall ride their
Horse, Mule otc, on the SIDE-WALKS or
said Town; or oauaod to have HITCHED,!
of TIED, their Stock, such as Horses. Moles
etc., so as to offer an obstruction or obstacle
to the free passage of Citiseus on the side*
walk.
See. 8. That aay Horse, Mule etc., found
running at large in the Publio Streets of
said Town,.shall be takon into custody by
the Town Marshal, and lodged for safe*
keeping till the owner oomc forward and
prove property and pay into the Treasurer
or the Town Council five (5) dollars for eaoh
and every head of Stock so confined. In
the event tbe said fino ia cot paid, the ser
vices of said animals shall be appropriated
for the uses of said Corporation, until suoh
Bate as the FINE8 and EXPENSES arising
thereby aiay be redeemed.
