?ad Aldermen in Counoil assembled that,
on -and after the First day September 1871,
any Person or Persons found hitching or
tying (heir Stock, saeh as HORSES,
MULES ect., to any of tho TREES in the
Public Street of the Town Of Orangeburg,
8. C, shall be subjeoted to a fine of five (.">)
dollars for aaeh and every offence ; half of
tho fines collect cd to be paid to tho informer
I when bringing with him sufficient proof to
j oonviot.
Sec. 2. That n firte of five (f>) dollnrs be
Imposed upon any one who shall ride their
Horse, Mule etc., on the SIDE-WALKS of
said Town; or caused to have HITCHED,
of TIED, their Stock, auch as Horses, Mules
etc., so as to offer an obstruction or obstaclo
to the free passage of Citizens on tho side*
walk.
Sec. 3. That any Horse, Mule etc., found
running at largo in the Public Streets of
said Town, shall be taken into custody by
the Town Marshal, and lodged for safe*
keeping till the owner oome forward and
prove property and pay into the Treasurer
or the Town Counoil five (ft) dollars for each
and every head of Stock so confined. In
the event the said fins is not paid, tho ser
vices of Bald animals shall be appropriated
for the uses of said Corporation, until such
time as the FINKS and EXPENSES arising
thereby may be redeemed.
