We learn from a reliable source in telligence as to a horrible murder which j was committed, on Tuesday night last, upon the plantation of Trial Justice W. f.. \Y. Rilcy. The victim was u colored man, named John Perry. The perpetrators are unknown. Tho facts are these : On Tuesday night last about 12 o'clock, four white men visited the place of Mr. Riloy. They first weut to the house of Reutin Jamison, u colored man, and demanded ll\at ho should take them to the hnu*o of John Perry. Jamison was frightened, nud of course obeyed tho command of the miduight assassins. Just mm they beared the kuuso of tho decent ci, he, in the meantime, getting tho alarm, rau out of the baek door. Before he got far from hia house, he received two or three loads of buck shot in his back ; which killed him instantly. Trial Jus tice Hi ley summoned a Jury of Ioqueat, and a verdict was rendered in accor dance with the facts. What caused these assassins to thus murder a respectable, and inuficusive citizen, we forbear to conjecture until we receive further intelligence. Our inf'oi uiauts tell us that Perry was an industrious and hard working man, and never did any one an injury.
