Never Say Fail.

Than setting aside.
And dreaming and sighing

In Ufa's eternal battle

The spirit of angels

SuLrHuitous.?A verdant Irish girl,
just arrived, was sent to an .intelligence
office by the Commission of Emigration,
to find a place at service. She wus sent to
a restaurant, where "stout help" was wan
ted, and while in conversation with the
proprietor, he tunk occasion to light his
cigar by igniting u locofoco match on
the sole of his boot. As soou as the girl
saw this, she ran awny half-frightened to
death, nnd when she reached the intelli
gence office she was almost breathless.
Why what is the matter with you F"
said tho proprietor, seeing her rush in
with such confusion.

" What do you mean?has he dared

The last iusUnce of "paying in kind"
that we have heard is related by Dr.
h?, who wus called to the beside of a
young man, quito ill, but who, by follow
ing the doctor's directions, and good
nursing, recovered. Culling upon the
good physician to thank him for his kind
ness, he expressed regret that his ex
treme poverty prevented nny remunera
tion other than' simple gratitudo, "un
less," continued ho, "you will take pay -
'?What is your way ?"

SOLUBLE PHOSPHORIC ACID, in the form of SOLUBLE PHOSPHATE OF LIME",
or DISSOLVED BONE PHOSPHATE, is the basis of all good Fertilizers, and these a rar
valuable in the ratio of Soluble Phosphoric Aeid which is in them.
The immense deposits of Phowphatie Guanos ?hieb were discovered in 1867, )a South)
Carolina, by Dr. PKATT, consist mainly of Insoluble Phosphate of Lime, which is leader
available as a Fertilizer hy being ground to powder, and reduced by Sulphuric Acid to inch
a condition as to make its insoluble phosphate soluble in water, and thus made capable off
being taken up by growihg plant*. The insoluble PhoopLmtcfoond in any commercial Fer
tilizer is of no more value to the plant than tbe original Phosphate rock. The greater tber
proportion of this soluble Pbospl.aie which any Fertiliser contains, the less tbe quantity re
quired per acre, and consequently tbe cheapest Fertiliser is that containing tbe highest per
centage of Soluble Phosphate.
