The N ext Radical Enormity.? The radicals havo not yot done with re pairing the Constitution 1 Judge Hurl Vutt, of this State, proposes An amend ment to it to pot dowu Catholicism. The Albany Evening Jonmal, however, Ifcihahs that there is no necessity for en amendment to accomplish that end, for it ?7s: "We beliefs that Congress hss ?ew all the authority necessary in the ease." The Albany Evening Journal li a high radical authority, end may be regarded as sounding the key-note j in this political overture. It gives the following as the reasons why Congress should repress "Popery:" "The argument oi tbe English Arch bishop Manning, in which he sustains the autocratic assumptions of the Pope; the powerful machinations of the Jesuit order; the proceedings of the (Ecumeni cal Council; the lessons of history; the assaults upon our common school system; the declarations of every Catholic organ In this country ; the demand for a por tion of the school fund, and the control ling power oxerci-cd by tho Catholic Church iu tbe Democratic party." We some time since indicated that the radical party was leavened with a reli gious prescriptive policy which would exhibit itself whenever the occasion offered. Tho esse with which constitu. tional amendments may be forced on the people by an arbitrary majority, and the military and civil facilities at their com mand for compelling obedience to their radical mandates, emboldened Judge Hurlbut to make the anti-Catholio sug gestion, and the Evening Journal to sus tain him. We have had a~radic.il, anti slavery war, which has involved the coun try in debt and deluged it with blood. The prospects now arc that we shall have an equally expensive and sanguin ary religious internecine strife invoked by radical fanatics. [A'eic York Nck$. Opposition to Female Suffrage ?"Data," of the Baltimore American, says: Mrs. Dshlgren, has started a move ment for aotiee opposition to the woman suffrage party. Mrs. Sherman, wife of Gen. Sherman, and a number of ladies beside, support the anti-woman's suffrage idea. They think the universal voice of the women of this country should be hoard upon the subject, and they feel assured that the result would bo that an immense majority of their sex would be found to be opposed to accepting the right to voto, believing that such rights would bring its burdens, dutiaa and re sponsibilities which would not ouly be distasteful to tho female, but of a char acter which they sre unable to assume A Washington correspondent says the President regrets that Congress should have put so much power in the hands of any military commander as it has given General Terry in Georgia. "If this is so," says Briok Pomeroy, "it only fur nishes another evidence that the Presi dent, is a fool. It was not Congress, more than the President, who gave this power to Terry. Grant signed the bill which he could have killed by a veto, had he found anything in it to regret. Tbe poor fool does not know what he does." PRATT, CHEMIST FOR THE Sulphuric Acid and Super-Phosphate Company. SOLUBLE PHOSPHORIC ACID, in the form of SOLUBLE PHOSPHATE OF LIME, or DISSOLVED BONK PHOSPHATE, is the basis of all good Fertilizers, and these are valuable In the ratio of Soluble Phosphoric Aeid which is in them. The immense deposits of Phosphatic Guanos which were discovered in 18*57, in South Carolina, by Dr. PRATT, consist mainly of Insoluble Phosphate of Lime, which is made available as a Fertilizer by being ground to powder, and reduced by Sulphuric Acid to auch a condition as to make it* insoluble phosphate soluble in water, and thus made capable of being taken up by growihg plants. The insoluble Phosphate found in any commercial Fer tilizer is of no more value to the plant than the original Phosphate rook. The greater the proportion of this soluble Phosphate which any Fertilizer contains, the less the quantity re quired per acre, nnd consequently the cheapest Fertilizer is that containing the highest per ccntage of Soluble Phosphate. Impressed with these truths, the SULPHURIC ACID AND SUPER-PHOSPHATE COMPANY have erected at Charleston the first extensive Acid Chambers South of Dalti more. and are able to offer to planters the HIGHEST PER CENTAGE OF SOLUBLE PHOSPHATE OF LIME known in any market. Their Fertilizers are offered under two forms: 1. Ktlwah, No. 1.?PUHE SOLUBLE PHOSPHATE, guaranteed to contain 24 per cent, of Dissolved Bone Phosphate of Lime, $?'.<> p?>r ton. 10 por cent, discount for cash. 2. ICtiwssii. WK ALSO OFFER: DISSOLVED BONE, of high grade, for planters or manufacturers, who may desire to mix into any other compost, and we suggest that ibis is the best nnd cheapest method for manufactures to transport the Sulphuric Acid contained in the mixture.
