boiling wafer on 2 pounds of brown

ginger; stir them well, and put it into
ft cask. When milkwarm, put in a half
a pint of gcod yeast, stopping the cask
close, and shaking it well. Bottle it in

Judge Orr hnB rendered an adverse
decision in tho case of John H. Walker
vs. Mary J. Walker, petition for divorce.
The ease has been held under considera
tion siuce. last court, and the legal pro
fession will be indebted to the Judge for
the very learned and able opinion in the
ease. We have examined thin opinion ;
it will form a land-mark in future cases.
The Judge distinctly indicates that the
Court of Equity of th|s State always had
the power to exercise jurisdiction in di
vortk. cases. We have fong been of the
opinion, notwithstanding the uniform
disclaimers of the Judge, and have al
ways believed that a Court of Equity
could and ought to hare granted divorces
wbero there existed the scriptural justi
fication. It is manifest that Judgo Orr
Would restriet the grouting of divorces
to esses of the moat aggravated character,
and he would not suit Chicago Or the
State of Conneetiout.
