Mr. 'Lightfont advertises to sell all his stock Tomaining over from thu old firm, cheap. He has just received a frosh supply of ?Groceries, including some fine Liquors, ?also a lino lot of segars. &c. At Folder's Store, in St. Matthews Parish, our citizens were unanimous in ipaying their taxes. The taxes of many of them amounting to over two hundred "dollars each. We have not heard of a -single protest or word of grumbling. The County Treasurer informs us that 'he never saw men more eager or willing to pay 'their taxes. At Branch vi lie and Lcwisvillc, a few failed to pay, but wo think they will rc ?oonsidor the mattor, and during Mr. Mount's stuy at the Court House, will ?come forward und settle. . W? understand that the greatest grumbler, and the man that made the most fuss at Branch villa about the tux, Ami no tax to jwg, only a prill tax of one dollar, but as he is a better jud^e of the value of his head than we are, we have no objection to his thinking it over valued.
