The market on the latter (lay, closing ut 1(>1 for Middling. This price was generally main tained on Monday, although the market was very irregular, buyers in many instances being able to operate at somewhat easier prices'. The demand, howuver, was active, anil sales wore freely made, 1000 bales changing hands. On Tuesday the market showed signs of weakness, which affected prices somewhat, but. not sufficiently to make any change in quotations. Wednesday the marKct opened with the same declining tendency, and prices during the day fell off Jc., although quite irregular.
