The declining leudonry noticed in our hwt .week's
report was oontinue<l throughout Fridny ami Satur
day, tho'1st And 2d inst., prices falling off about \c.
each ilny. The market on the latter (lay, closing ut
1(>1 for Middling. This price was generally main
tained on Monday, although the market was very
irregular, buyers in many instances being able to
operate at somewhat easier prices'. The demand,
howuver, was active, anil sales wore freely made, 1000
bales changing hands. On Tuesday the market
showed signs of weakness, which affected prices
somewhat, but. not sufficiently to make any change
in quotations. Wednesday the marKct opened with
the same declining tendency, and prices during the
day fell off Jc., although quite irregular. On Tues
day the market opened with a good demand, which
-increased la activity towards its close, and tho do.
