Aughtry, Nov. 14, 1838. She died at her home near Ooshen Hill, Union Co., 8. C. Jan. 22, 1886 She joined the Methodist Church at a camp-meet log held at Old Fish Dam, under the ministry of Rev. James Stacy, in 1832. Sho was one of those ' noble-hearted and sweet-epirited women wbe lorcd her church and was always found in hor place among tiod's People. She was a ?ery constant Bible reader, meek, charitable and self-sacrificing, and by unshaken faith in the promises of (iod. demonstrated her good works, in which she abounded more and more as the end drew near. Often did she encourage the heart of the writer by referring to that bright hope of eternal life, expressing a perfect readiness, at tho Master's bidding, to "pass over the river and rest under the shado of tne trees." She has gone, but not without leaving behind evident tokens of fhithfulnesa and patience. During the last fear of her life her cup of grief was made to overflow. lrst, whon the dearest tie (her husband) "fell on sleep" only about ono year ago; this was followed by a dear brother and hlsdear companion. Dr. W. W, and Mrs, Sims, under which circumstances she showed the power of grace and a well-defined faith which always supports the true Christian, and a lovo which floweth like a river. While less demonstrative than many, yet the flslth of childhood seemed not to have boon obstructed in its growth. Hor communion with Clod was devout, intelligent and inspiring, making a principle in her life of constant sen-denial ana bulprulness to otken, which causca Christian character to shine brighter and brighter in the circle of our companionship. Several children are left tomourn, for whoui are our sympathies and for whom are our prayers. May the entire household form one unbroken family in that 'mansion above.' W. M. WHEREAS, we. the Board of County Commissioners, finding that the benefioiary plan of surporting Paupors out%|de of the Poor House, has proved too expensive and oppressive upon the tax payers of the county, have made ample arrangements at the County Poor House for the accommodation of all who are entitled te the support of the county, within that Institution, This is made necessary, in consequence of the heavy costs that is immediately necessary for repairs upon tho Court House and Jail, which, in addition to the ordinary county expenses, will demand the closest economy to make the present tax levy meet the demands upon the Treasury this year. The Board therefore notifies all who may be concerned, that on and after tho 1st day of Juno next, all support of individuals, outside of the Poor House, will cease, and all persons applying for assistance and support from the County, must file their petitions, properly cirtitled to by Drs.
