WHEREAS a Petition has been filed with
the County Commissioners of Union
County, signed by a majority cf the freeholders
of Ooudeysville Township, of UnioA County, in
accordance with the provisions of an Act of tho
General Assembly of South Carolina, approved
23d day of December, A. D. ?882, entitled "an
Act to renew and amend an Act entitled an Act
to incorporate the Union, GafFney City an<l Ruth-*
erford Railroad Company, approved March 18th
1878, asking that the question of subscription <
or no subscription of tho sum of twenty-five
thousand dollars to tho oapital stock of said
Company, payable in Bonds of said Township, as
provided by said Act, be submitted to the qualified
electors of said Township. And further
Lhat "the funds realized on said bonds to be ox
pended exclusively in tho construction of Baid
Railroad within the limits of said Township, on
lie most practicable route, crossing l'acolct ltiver '
it any point not exceeding one and one-half miles
ibove "Skull Shoals Ford" and Thickety Creek
in the vicinity of "Owens Ford."
And whereas the said County Commissioners
iiave by a resolution of their Board, fixed
lie amount proposed to be subscribed, accord
ing to t le request of said Petition, at twentyIve
thousand dollars, in seven per oeut. Coupon
Bonds of said Township; said bonds to bo made
payable in equal installments of sixteen, twenty
twenty.fcur and twenty-eight years after the
late thereof, as provided by said act.
ft is hereby ordered. That an election bo held
for said purposo, on Saturday, the 23d day of
June, next; and that the polls be opened nt the
rarious election precincts within the said Town>hip
of Goudeysville from 7 o'clock A. M., until G
)'clock P. M., of that day, at which election all

sntitled to vote ; that tho ballots shall havo writen
