Chairman O'Dell called the meeting to rder and announced that nominations for emporary chairman and secretary was in rder. W. T. O'Dell was nominated and lected without opposition for temporary hairman and W. W. F. Bright was elected emporary secretary. On motion the chairman appointed G. V. Singleton, B. J. Johnson and T. C. tobinson a committee on credentials. Twelve clubs were represented by 85 clegates. The following Is the executive commit. ?e: C. T. Martin, Easley; J. T. Bogge, Lib rty; It. G. Gaines, Central; J. 1t. Ross, ix Mile; W. N. Bowlin, Praters; N. D. arsons, Hurricane; 0. P. Field, Pickens; . J. Ligon, Eastatoe; J. D. M. Keith, Iumpkintowu; W. W. F. Bright, Docus. ille; II. H. Looper, Cross Plains; V. N. jughes, Foster's Store. B. J. Johnson was nominated for permna ent, chairman and W. V. F. Bright secre ary. W. T. Field was elected first vice resident and W. T. Bowcn, second vice iresident. The secretary was elected reaurer. Lahtan Mauldin moved that a committee of one from each club be appointed to re ommend delegates to the btate conven ion. W. A. Hamilton objected to this on he ground that the clubs that had Antis to ight ought to have delegates. W. A. Hamilton moved that the delc. ,ates elected to the State Convention be re juired to State publicly on the platform heir position on the Ocala demands. The ollowing were reported as delegates: C. I. Carpenter, W. T. O'Dell, T. C. Robin on, W. A. Hamilton, W. V. F. Bright ,nd B. J. Johnston. (. 11. Carpenter said he had tried to how by his actions that he was in favor of lie Ocala demands. lie thought that if hey were enacted into law the country vould be in better condition. W. T. O'Dell said he was in favor of the lie deniands but he was not certain about ne demand and that was the government wnership of railroads. If the government ontrolled the railroads he was in favor of hem, but if to own them he was not. T. C. Robinson expresscd the same opin 3m as Senator O'Doll. W. A. Hamilton said he was in favor of lie Ocala demands in toto. W. W. F. Bright favored the demands. B. J. Johnston said to show he was true o the people he referred them to his rec rd. lie favored the demands. The reason Mr. Johnston was elected iairnan was because W.T.O'Dell was not delegate to the convention and was not lhigible to the olulce. If this he so, and we (o not doubt the correctness of the pro Ceding, how could Senator O'Dell be elect d a de!ecate to the State Convention? At this stage, Rev. O W. Singleton ro:ie and said lie had beenl handed sone esoltitions with the request to read them, and then proceeded to read as follows: PUKAMIL AND IT-oLUTIONs.
