Arthur Porter has been quite sick with grip. -Lawyer Childress father paid him a visit this week. --McFall's Ab oanack is unusually inter. esting this week. -Mrs. Willie Lathem,who was reported quite sick last week, is much improved. -Many citizens were interested in the county commissioners court last Tuesday. -Mr. W, H1. Thomas is in attendance upon the United States court in Charlestou as a juror. -The Misses Hollingsworth will go to Charleston this week on a visit to Miss Queenile Hagood. -Twelve hundred and nineteen dollars was paid to pensioners in this county by the State last year. -Mr. T. D. Harris has resigned from the Board of Directors of the Pickens Railroad Company. -The republicans tried to capture Cen tral in the town election, like they did at Walhalla but failed. --Every member of Mr. E. J. Prince's family has been sick. At this writing they are all much improved. -Miss Frankie Robertson, of the Pra. ters Creek section, Visited the family of Rev. John T. Lewis last Sabbath. -Mr. Aaron Boggs was in Pickens last Tuesday on business. His health is much better than for a few weeks past. -Mr. H1. A. Richey is planting Bermuda grass on his farm north of Pickens. Past ure land for the stock is the winner. --The Pickens County Medical Associa tion did not have quite a quorum of mem bers, so no business was done last Monday. -Marion McGaffy, Jesse Sansell and George Shipman were bound over for trial last week for violaticn of internal revenue laws. -A few more amateur performances and dances, and the young folks of Pickens and Easley will be greatly interested in each other's welfare. --Married, on the 3d inst., at the resi dence of 13.
