NEW ORLEANs, February 22.--The weather cleared off this morning and the sun shone brightly for a time, but later on 1 the sky clouded up again. The Rex pro cession this afternoon was a brilliant aflair, embracing a series of humorous and bur lesque tableaux. First came a detachment of mounted amazons in rich costumes. Then followed twenty cars, each contain ing a tableau. The first division was illustrative of music and various popular songs. It was com posed of ten tableaux. The second division was of a miscella neous character. Tableau 11 was entitled "Burlesque and Tragedy"; No. 12, "N oah's Ark"; No. 18, "Paradise Lost"; No. 14, "Prodigal Son"; No. 15, ''British Lion before and now"; No. 16, "IRoyalty in a Future Generation"; No. 17, "C:csar Cross ing the Alps"; No. 18, "Egyptian Priest craft." 'rte third division was devoted to Wash ington, the Father of his Country. 'T':b leau 19, ''Cherry Tree and Ihatchet"; No. 20, "Allegorical Tr!bute to the Father of his Country." Following Rex's procession came the In dependent Order of the Moon in a travesty on the prominent features or characteristics of this Yankee nation. The feature of the evening after the Proteus procession was the reception of the King and Queen at the Exposition Palticc. Thougands of their loyal subjects were present from all parts of the country.
