When it had bee spread upon tho table, it appeare 3 that the ladies had in providing fc this important part of the programmn e neglected none of the substantials r delicacies which go to make up a rol al picnic. Almost everything t tempt the appetite was there i: the greatest abundance, and we most heartily enjoyed by all. Th Mile Creek Sabbath School unde the superintendence of Mr. L. R. Arrangement have been completed for the erectio of a substantial and convenient hous of worship by the Baptifsts. Harrison, of Ab . beville County, who is alternate, came within four points of scoring as many g as Mr.Mauldin. Frank has our most s hearty congratulations. n The cotton mill men were in con d vention last week in Augusta, Ga. r. There were so few present they could o not see their way clear to pool their . earnings. The Im1ill5 have more goods than they can find sale for, and they are trying to fall 11po11 a plan, that will 1 give every mill an opportunity to sell s what it makes at a fair profit. The e trouble seems to be over production, r and it was suggested by some, that each mill which should belong to thc .1 association they are trying to organ f ize, should run one week, then stop the next, until the demnancl is pro portion to the supply. Nothing f which could be suggested, however, wIas free from objection. Out of the seven mills in Augusta, t only two were represented ill the conilventiou.
