NATIVE WINE.--Mr. Francis Hahn, of Greenville, says the .News, about three years ago planted two and a fourt h aores in grape vines at his'place on the outskirts of the city. He now Das between 600 and 700 gallons of pure wine made from those grapes, 'which is pronounced by competant ecrities to be fully twenty per cent bet ter than imported clarets. Its market value is abnut 61 50 per gailon. [In other words, he has a secured prod uc Sion of 6900 per season from two and a fourth acres, paying him doubtless many hundred per cent. on his invest mient. Aside from the commercial aspects of this industry, its extention would doubtless produce vast moral reforms. If pleasant and harmless wine is as cheap and accessible as spirsts, the consumption of the latter with the miseries involved in it would necessarily decrease vatl. Oolenoy "Corn." Ma.
