We, of the school twnching fratorn[ ty, should return thank to our 11on orablo Representative, for being so kind as to bring us up some "greens." "Greens" are not only good in the spring, but are good at any time, if they have the "backs." We like our jolly County Treasur er's manner of paying off claims. He pays out with as much good humor as he receives. It isn't like "pulling eye teth,." As we read the papers, we are con strained to cry out, "Hurrah for Ilaml)ton and his thief catching com, mittee!" As the echoes of our voice dies away, wo think, who has "brass" enough to hurrah for Chamberlain and his "chain-gang?'" We listen for n answer', but only hear the echo, like an old owl on aI pino top, repeating the question, who! who!! who!!! Alas! how the mighty have fallen. Tlho "high places" of Radicalism are being mado desolate. One bv one they aire passing away, and eoorl "the places that onco knew thum shall know them no more forever." Where is the hand that will be stretched forth to ul)old thon? We did se one of the "cdead issues" of the Ra:iCal party, the other' day, attemp)t to uphold Chamnber'lainu; but a ''child"' laid his hanjd lightly on Chamnberlai n's guilt ladeni back, and soon 'dead issue" was willing to "'beg to be excused'' and pra'cti.o tihe cr'aw-fishi movement. JOHNSON, Dean. aug 9, 1777 48 3m Ayer's Ague Cure, For Fever and Ague Intermittent Fever, Chill Fever, RemittenL Fever, Dumb Ague Periodicalor Bilious Fever,&o. and indeed all the affections which arise fb'om malari Ous, marsh, or miasmatio poisons. This is a compound remedy, prepared with scienti tle skill f rm vegetable ingredients, which rarely fails to cure the severest cases of Chills and Fever and the concomitant disorders. Such a remedy the necensities of the people in mala rious districts demandl. Its great superiority over any other medicine yet discovered for the cure of Inter mittents is, that it contains no qui nine or mineral, and those who take it are free from danger of qjuinism or any injurious effects, and are as healthy af.er using it as before. It has been extensively employed during the last thirty years in the treatme'nt of these distressing disordors, and so unvarying has been its success that it has gained the repuitation of being infal lible. It can, therefore, be safely recommended as a sure remedy and specific for the Fever and Ague of the West, and the Chills and Fever of the South. It counteracts the miasmatic poison in the blood, and frees the system from its influ ence, so that fever and aigue, shakes or chills, once broken up by it, (10 not return until the disease is again contracted. The great variety of disorders which arise from the irritation of this poison, such as Neuralgia, IRheumatismn, 0Gout, Headache, Blindness, Toothache, Earache, Catarrh, Asthma, Pal-. pitation, Splenic A ffections, Ilysterics, Pain In the llowels, Colic, Paralysis, and derange of the Stomach, all of which become intermit tent or periodical, have no speedier remedy than AYER's AUE. CUnRE, which cures them all alike, and protects the system from future attacks. As a preventive, it is of immense service in those communities where Fever and Aguxe prevails, as it stays the development of the disease if taken on the first app)roacht of the premonitory symp toms. Travellers and temporary residents are thus enabled to defy these disorders, and few will -ever suffer if they avail themselves of the protection this remedy affords. For Liver Complaints, arising from torpidity, it is an excellent remedy ; it stimulates this organ into healths activity, and produces many remark able cures wrhere other medicines fili. -i Prepare by Dr. J. JEWELRY!! --0 )O.NAINE GOLD, so extensively worn in J Paris, was first, discovered in 1870, by the celebrated French chemist Mons D. Be Lainge, who manufactured it into jewelry, and for five years sold it to the leading jew elers of Paris for Solid Gold. In 1875, when his secret became known, ten of the manu facturing jewelers established a stock com pauy, with a capital of $10,000,000 for tho uipose of manufacturing Romaine Gold Jewelry and Watches. With this immense cipital, and the aid of improved machinery they are enabled to produce all the latest pat terns of jewelry at less than one-tenth the cost of Solid Gold, and of a quality and color which makes it. impossible even for experts to detect it. from the genuiue.
