Doos-There are about 2,500 tax payers in this County, and it is esti mated that thore are two dogs to every taxpayer, making a total of 5,000 dogs. We estimate that the cost of keeping one dog would, if fed to a hog, make 200 pounds of bacon. If this be true, then what it cost to feed the dogs would make 1,000,000 pounds of bacon, which at 15 cents per pound would be worth 6150,000. Think of this, 6150,000 fed to dogs annually in Pickens County, when if' it was con verted into bacon, it would make us comparatively rich.
