Vickensville, was committed to the
jail of this Connty last Saturday, by
Trial Justice Taylor,lin default of bail,

ACOIDENT.-We regret to learn that
Miss fallie Nix, daughter of M~r. J.
4. Nix of the Easloy Hotel, met with
the misfortune last week, of having
-er knee cap dislocated and the knee
joint otherwise seriously damaged, by
4 horse running away with a spring
wagon, in which she was riding.
Edmcpd Rogers, colored, on the
15th instant, went to COntral Station
in this County, and drank whiskey in
a bar-room until he became very
dunk. He was carried home by his
friends in the evening, and about 12
o'clock in the night, died, it is suppos
ed, from the effects of the whiskey.
His fate should be a warning to others
If those who have been read
ing our paper for years w-ithout paying
us a cent for it, will only come for
ward like mon and ask us to make
them a presunt of the subscription, we
will d o so.
We notice our farmers are going to
use 'a good deal of guano algain this
year, but we do not think they arc
going to use as much as they did lastL
year. This is encouraging, and if they
Would quit cotton altogether there
would be no necessity for any guano,
