H., on Monday 12th inst. Gar many had broke out of Greenville jail, in which he had been confined form violation of the internal revenue laws W. F, Gary and Van B. Hendricks acting in the capacity of United Stateli Marshals, went to arrest and returr him back to jail. The Greenvill< News learns that It was bioughi out - in evidence before the Coroner's jury of inquest that Hen. dricks advanced on Garmany, shoot,. ing at him twice, saying, "damn you 1 will take you or kill you," when Gar. many shot him in the right breast, kil ling him almost instantly. It is also sta ted that Garmany had his child in hi arms, and that the child said "don'i shoot pa." The remains of Mr. Hen. dricks were brought back to thif County on Wednesday, and intered ir the family burying ground on the homestead near Liberty Station. Mr Hendricks is one of the gentlemer who was sevetely wounded by Red mond in a revenue difficulty in th( lower section of this County ,a few weeks ago.Mr. Hendricks waa raised in this County, and loaves a larg< and respectable family connection to mourn hi untimnly end.
