Greenville, Aug. 24. - Two auto mobile accidents occurred to day near Greer. Tn ono of tbeso William Brockman, the .p-year-old son of .Mr. and Mrs. Majort Brockman, was in stantly killed when a largo truck passed over his head, crushing il. In tho other accident two men, Leo Hea ;?f?!?^tb?rly.?nd Henrys^Bnrfield sustained painful bruises when an automobile driven by E. C. Wilson struck the two on a road near Greer. Sheriff Carlos Rector arrested Wilson and brought him to Green ville pending the outcome of the acci dent. Ho arranged bond in the sum of $500 and was released. Tho two men were not seriously hurt. The second accident occurred on the national highway betwoon Chick Springs and Greer about tl o'clock In tho afternoon. Young Brockman and bis younger I thor had left homo to run an orran i for their mother, and when they left their home, which is on tito road, a car passed, going vory slowly, tho two youngsters, it was said, jumped on Ibo rear of it and rode for some distance down Ibo road. The truck was going in the opposite direction, and tho two boys did not know of its approach. They jumped off tho ear, and before tho driver of the truck could bring lt to a stop tho older brother was knocked down and killed. Tho othor brother escaped without injury. Tho driver, J. V. Woodward, became frightened and Jumped from his truck and ran across a held.
