Wily Georgia manufacturers of all sorts of punk "sure death to boll weevils" tell the farmers to use tho preparations they put up TO SELL, and "make more cotton than you ever made before." When you seo th eso boll weevil "sure cures" ad vertised, just think tho matter over n bit. Why don't the Georgia farm ers use these commercial "sure cures" and "raise moro cotton than ever liefere " Hore are some of the reports, by counties, issued last week, on tho crop conditions on the other sido of the river: "Jasper County-Indicated yield, 2Od hales. "Madison County-Weather con ditions cloudy and rainy, favoring boll weevils. "Newton County-Twice as many weevils, compared with last year. "Putnam County--Weevils in ev ery bold. Estimate 100 huies for county against IS,OOO before weevils c n me. "Lincoln County--Crop very late Too much rain. "Uni Hill County- Worst shed ding I oversaw. Still raining. "Wilkes County-This county will not make 1,000 halos, against 8,000 last year and 28,000 In 1920." SO! ir, would seem that tho Georgia commercial " sure cures for weevils" must be made more for "a killing" among South Carolina suckers than t.) kill we,.vils in the Kmplro State ot tho South. At any rate, don't grab tho whole bait when ?? is again thrown out. Il will likely bo tried In tho early spring again. Let tho Georgia weevil con ,:" ' rc inf er j ou f Ink anj money ?i, those "boll weovil sun cures." "Hauling bay to feed mules-tc ra ISO colton to feed boll weevils.' There's a whole basket picnic Ol food for thought in those word?; which uro used by County Agent 0 R. Mr. Briggs has booh writ ing lots of good stuff for a long time, but he got right down to tho essene.) of things tu a fow words this woek and gave just what is heeded, if properly studied and thought ovor, to serve as a winter's supply of food for thought. Cut out those two lilies and study them aftor the boll wovil Las gathered your 1922 crop. And then 1)0 ready to chango things at tho opening of next spring.
