A number of years ago Mr. Verner suffered a rup ture that has never been of a seri ous nature, though nt. times very an noying. Yesterday Mr. Verner stepped into a drug store and asked for a cold drink, and as he did so was seized with a (lt of sneezing, the exertion of which brought about a recurrence of thc rupture trouble. This could not he remedied at the moment, and Mr. Vernor was taken at once to the Oconee Hospital at Westminster, where an operation, it ls thought, will be necessary.
