Ho saw his regiment 'leave for foreign service, but could not go. He was transferred to a hos pital in New York Sjate. After stay ing there about two months he was finally given a discharge, and came home last week. Ho will leave the last of this week for Harlowton, Mont., where he has a government land grant. This is Mr. Burley's first visit to his old home in over eight years. On -May 4th Mrs. Hetrick will take charge of Flagler Hospital for a month In place of the regular superintendent, who will at tend the National Nurses' Conven tion at Detroit, Mich., and will then visit other points North. After that Mrs. Hotrlck will remain on duty un til other plans mature. We feel a special pride in Mrs. Hetrick in that she is a Walhalla young woman, one of our own girls. We will note ber future career with deep Interest. ;-Rev. Masslh Cobb died at his home in the Hetrick Hosiery Mill village, just out of Walhalla, last Wednesday night. 'He had longnoen a sufferer from Bright's disease, i though he had never given up, and until within a few avooks of his death had retained active charge of pasto ral work as pastor of the South Side Baptist church. He was bom In January, 1853, and was a native of tho Mountain Grove section of Oco nee. His parents, Rev. and Mrs. Robert Cobb, are still living. He loaves a wife and seven children to mourn his death. All or Nie chil dren are married. Ho was a good man and bad lived an active and use ful life, devoting his tinto to physi cal labors as well as serving weak churches tn his denomination. Fun eral services were hold Friday, and the Interment was made at Mountain Grove cemetery, tho services being conducted by Rev. L. H. Raines.
