ROTED SUFFRAGIST IS DEAD. Before Marriage Was Miss Inez Mil holland, of Nov York. Los Angelos, Nov. 26.-Mrs. Inez Milholland Boissevain , well-known suffragist and welfare worker, died in a hospital hero shortly before mid night last night after an illness of ton weeks. She was 30 years old. Mrs. Boissevain was stricken while addressing an audience in this city (luring tho recent political campaign and fainted on the platform. She Mas removed to a hospital and her husband and parents rushed from Now York to join her here. Miss Vida Milholland, her sister, was with her when she was stricken and has hoon in constant attendance since that time. Mrs. Boissevain's illness was diag nosed as aplastic anemia and blood transfusion was resorted to in at tempts to improve her condition. Miss Vida Milholland twice gave blood for this purpose, and on four other occasions friends submitted to the ordeal in hope that benefit would result. After each transfusion tem porary improvement was followed by relapse. It was stated that Mrs. Bois sevain's trouble originated in her tonsils, which became inflamed as the result of too constant speaking during the campaign. Inez Milholland Boissevain had boen for many years widely known for her activity as a woman suffra gist, a social welfare worker, an ad vocate of socialism, and as a practic ing lawyer. At the burial in the crypt of the Capuchin, ?>. historic ceremony will be carried ont, which was anciently de signed to impress the monarch's suc cessor that in spite of all pomp a sov ereign is merely a mortal. The funeral procession will be halted at the entrance to the vault by a challenge from within: "Who is there?" The reply will be made: "Mis most sarene majesty, the Empe ror Francis Joseph." The challenger will then reply: "1 know him not." Responding to a second challenge the announcement will be made: "The Emperor of Austria and Apos tolic King of Hungary is outside." Again the challenger will answer: "I l;now him not." When, for the third time, the voice within asks who demands ad mission tin? master of ceremonies will reply: "A sinful man. our bro ther. The patrons, trustees and all in terested citizens ol' Khenezer school aro urged to attend a mooting at the school house next Saturday, Decem ber 2d. They are requested to bring necessary implements. The ladles of the school Improve ment association will serve dinner for all persent. In the afternoon a very important meeting of the asso ciation will he held. This will not be fer the ladies already members of the association alone, but every lady of the Ebenezer section ls cordially invited and urgently requested to at tend. The co-operation of all ls needed. Both the ladles and gentlemen of tho Ebenezer section are requested to "bear these meetings for next Satur day in mind, and let nothing keep them from attending.
