Samuel Nicholson, in Midway. Miss Nicholson had been a sufferer foi a long time from tubercu losis, and her death was not a sur prise to those who knew the serious ness of her condition. Though she suffered much and for a number of vears, she was always cheerful, ever considerate of those about her. and her happiest moments were those when, even though her strength was almost gone, she was able to do some small thing for some friend or loved one in the family. Hers was truly a Christian character, and these graces caine so naturally with IHM1 tis to be noted I? all as distinctive char acteristics. She will be greatly missed wherever she was known, for every one who knew her admired her tine Christian character and graces. Ku ne ral services were held Tuesday afternoon at L' o'clock at the home of Samuel Nicholson, these being con ducted by Kev. !.. Kindon, assisted 1 Hov. Lawrence C. Douthlt, of Ihc Wesleyan Methodist church, of w hich she had been for a number of years a consistent and enthusiastic member, and in thc Sunday school of which, up to the time her health necessitat ed her retirement from all activities, she was one of the most successful teachers. she was president of the Y. M. W. H. of that church, serving always faithfully ami well. Inter ment took place in Westview ceme tery. The deceased is survived by tour brothers, four sisters and two half brothers, as follows: C. Lewis Dorroh, Esq., Dead, (Tugaloo Tribune, 1st.) Mr. and Mrs. J, I). Sheldon were called to Creenville this week to at tend the burial of her brother, Ix>wis Dorroh, who died in a Georgia Sana torium Saturday morning. Mr. Dor roh was the youngest son of the late John V. Dorroh, who was ono of Creenville county's leading physi cians for many years. lie was just in the prime of life, being about '.'>'> years old. Mr. Dorroh was admit ted to t he C roon ville bar several years ago and enjoyed a good practice be fore his health failed. Ho repre sented Greenville county in the Leg islature for several terms. June ?.-A posse of ten American cowboys and miners rode eight miles across vite border into Santa Cruz, Sonora, Mexico, this afternoon, leveled their guns ?it the colonel commanding the garrison, while* 150 soldiers looked on, and ob tained the release of two American boys kidnapped early to-day by three of the soldiers on the Arizona side of the border. The colonel gave up his two 17 year-old prisoners, George Vaughn, son of a store-keeper at Duquesne, and Henry Chang, son of a Chinese American citizen of Washington Camp.
